My JM wristband just arrived yesterday. Luckily it was at night because I then realised it was a glow in the dark..lol..Anyone else get theirs? If you don’t know what I’m talking about, these are wristbands that were being sold by http://www.jmwristbands.com/ for MOM-an organization to help young military families. There were different wristbands that were sent out. Mine is a glow in the dark one which reads ” A SIMPLE LITTLE KIND OF FREE “- (Battle Studies). I’m glad to be part of the charity and have a little “Johnny” with me at all times :-).
The wedding was amazing! I could not stop smiling! We had both waited for this moment for a long time and now that it was finally here, we were so elated!
Everyone we invited came and that meant alot to us. Having the closest people in our lives with us together sharing this special moment.
The cake turned out rather nice and I had to stop looking for the imperfections and just dwell in the moment at hand.
Although my supposedly best friend never showed up as she said she would, I decided that it was time for a change in that department. A new life meant a new way of thinking in the friendship department. I had given her so many chances after disappointing me time and time again and I have decided that I just don’t need to carry that toxic relationship onto my new one.
The photographer we had was on her toes and I cannot wait to see the photos. I am sharing a couple of shots that my niece took that evening.
All in all, this was a perfect day and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I hope and pray someday you will meet that someone very special who makes you smile ear to ear from the mere mention of their name or who takes your breath away at the very site of them. I have found mine and he is a blessing to my life and I thank God for him everyday!

Wedding Rant (Rave) Update
I finally found someone to do a cake for me on such short notice. It wasn’t what I wanted, but close and that’s good enough for me ,given the situation at hand.
The restaurant we chose (Pericos @Sonterra) have graciously agreed to take down the enormous parrot painting in order for us not to have to look back 40 years from now and see them in the background of our wedding pictures. The manager has also decided to give us the champagne gratis because we will be the first ever wedding at their restaurant. I am very thankful and grateful for them for their generosity and working with us.
Although my bridal shower was canceled two days before it was supposed to happen, I am going to make the best of my special day. I refuse to let anyone or anything deter me from the fact that this is all about marrying the man I am so in love with and that is what matters.
I’m off to Austin to see some sweet ladies who want to get together anyway despite the shower being canceled. I so need some girls time.
I hope someone brought the margaritas? :P
My Pre-Wedding Rant
I have taken on the task of wedding planner for my wedding and it’s been a very emotional roller coaster ride trying to get things situated and in place for my big day (June 26th) which is fast approaching.
But, as the day nears, things are slowly coming undone and I’m verging Bridzillahood and am in need of venting. And hence, the reason for this rant.
My rant involves my best friend. Who is semi mental I have realised,but I do love her so. She claims to have cervical cancer and says she has been going through treatment once a week, yet she looses no hair and is as plump and healthy as one can be. No signs of weakness. I have lost a couple people in my life to cancer and I for one should know the symptoms and side effects. Anyway, she proceeds to tell me yesterday that she will not be able to give me my bridal shower after all. Why? because she all of a sudden is having surgery this morning?! Yeh, ok. Is that why NO invites had been sent out to ANY of my friends? Why she never contacted my aunt where we were going to have the party at? So, tell me a day before my expect bridal shower that Im not having one?? So sad. Angry. hurt. I have no words to describe how I feel. She had been begging me to give her the chance to do this one thing for me.
One more rant. The wedding cake. I have none. Who was responsible for acquiring this? My best friend. So, now I am searching for a cake maker at such short notice. I dont want a crummy cake at my wedding! I dont need fancy either. But, I do need a cake! And so my search will intensify today as my mission impossible. Wish me luck.
On a positive note, my wedding dress is finally ready for a fitting, of which I will do Tuesday. I have since recovered from the $900 alteration charge.
I would say I’m pulling my hairs out, but with the surgery I had in October, I have little to pull, so Ill have to find an alternative…like yelling in my pillow?
I’ll be marrying the man of my dreams soon. If I have a disposable camera and a cupcake to share with him, its ok with me. Those things do not define my love for this man. Having said that, I feel better already.

Shopping late at the market. Me & Joey came across this energy bar that was shelved under the “British” aisle. Surely there’s a reason this bar is sold in Britain and not here in the US…lol.. I’m wondering what the buyer for this store was thinking when he thought this bar would be a seller? Sexist statement? I just thought this was a bit humorous. And for the record I looked for a bar that was for women,but no cigar.
